Tightness, discomfort, dull complexion… What if you weren’t treating the right skin concern? Dry skin and dehydrated skin have different needs and require different solutions

What is the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin?

Dry skin is a permanent skin type characterized by a lack of lipids (insufficient sebum production), which weakens the skin barrier and causes discomfort.

Dehydrated skin, on the other hand, is a temporary condition that can affect all skin types. When the skin barrier no longer functions properly, water evaporates more easily from the skin, leading to dehydration. This can be caused by external aggressors or unsuitable skincare products. As a result, oily and combination skin can also become dehydrated.

How can you tell if your skin is dry or dehydrated?

PEAU SECHE Dry skin: constant feelings of tightness, roughness, discomfort, possible flaking, and a dull complexion.

PEAU DESHYDRATEE Dehydrated skin: occasional feelings of tightness (after cleansing, during winter, or after sun exposure), dehydration lines (fine lines that become visible when gently pinching the skin), and a dull complexion, while the skin may still be oily in certain areas.

Which ingredients are specifically suited to dry skin, and which are suitable for all skin types that may experience dehydration?

| For dry skin (lipid needs):

For dry skin, our approach is to reinforce the weakened skin barrier by replenishing lipids. These help limit water loss, maintain hydration, and protect the skin from external aggressors. The result: skin feels more comfortable, softer, better nourished, and gradually regains its natural suppleness.

| For all skin types, ideal for dehydrated skin:

For dehydrated skin, we target biomimetic ingredients containing components of the NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factors), a group of substances naturally found in the skin’s outer layers. Like the skin’s natural NMF system, these ingredients act like a sponge, attracting and retaining water to help keep the skin supple.
